Frequently Asked Questions

Q: But I have a vacation scheduled at some point during these dates, can I work the other dates?

A: Unfortunately, leaders must be available for all dates of programming in order to be considered for this position.

Q: How many people are you hiring?

A: We are looking to hire approximately 30 Enrichment Leaders for middle school sites and approximately 20 for elementary school sites.

Q: What does it pay?

A: This position pays $25 an hour. If leaders work the required Monday-Thursday from 1-4 p.m. between July 7th and July 31st, their facilitation stipend will equal $1,200. We also pay for leaders’ time at the required orientation as well as a $100 prep stipend, so all leaders should make a total of $1,350 as long as no dates of work are missed for emergencies.

Q: What will my day look like?

A: Leaders will have 2 rotations of youth each day. From 1-2 p.m., leaders will support the on-site coordinating agency in SEL programming. From 2-3 p.m. and 3-4 p.m., leaders will facilitate one hour sessions that they have planned/designed with two different groups.

Q: How many youth will I have at one time?

A: We anticipate a ratio of 1:15.

Q: Can I create my own program or will I be given curriculum?

A: Leaders will be expected to create their own program and activities or identify a program/activities to implement. No curriculum will be provided.

Q: Do I have to be a certified teacher in a particular content area?

A: No! Anyone who is employed by Tulsa Public Schools is eligible to apply.

Q: Who can I expect a 1099 from?

A: This opportunity is offered by the Opp Project, LLC. (a component of Tulsa Community Foundation). Financial support for enrichment opportunities this summer is coming from Tulsa’s philanthropic community. Leaders will be required to submit a W9 and your 1099 will come from Tulsa Community Foundation.
