Weather Awareness & Extreme Heat Planning
As we move through the summer, please monitor weather conditions daily and ensure your site has a plan for responding to extreme heat and other weather-related events.
On days with extreme heat:
Limit outdoor activities and increase indoor programming when possible.
Schedule frequent water breaks and encourage hydration throughout the day.
Utilize shaded areas and air-conditioned spaces.
Monitor students and staff for signs of heat-related illness.
Communicate any necessary schedule adjustments with your team promptly.
