What are Affiliate Partners?

Tulsa Public Schools partners with the Opp Project, LLC to vet all youth-serving organizations who wish to deliver afterschool and summer programming at Tulsa Public Schools sites through Affiliate Partnership. Affiliate Partnership demonstrates to school sites and districts that the organization has gone through the necessary checks and balances to provide safe, high-quality, and enriching experiences.

At a high level, the Opp:

Ensures Student Safety

Reviews the organization’s General Liability Insurance limits and ensures coverage for child sexual abuse and molestation
Asks the organization to commit to tracking youth engagement in programming through TIDEL, our data system which allows us to track attendance and engagement in expanded learning.
Requires organization to ensures there is always more than one adult in the room when youth are present.

Verifies Contact Information

Requires organization to make clear contact information widely and publicly available.

Checks for Staff Quality

Requires organization to train all individuals interacting with youth on child abuse reporting.
Requires organization to complete annual background checks on all individuals interacting with youth.
